The course was good but it could have been even more intensive

Pluses:
– Good explanation of basic grammar
– Teacher was very good at explaining words/grammar and answering questions, giving examples
– Good effort at setting the correct prononciation
– Overall it provided a good framework for learning French and forced me also to learn by myself
What could be improved:
– The pace sometimes was slow for me (it may be a subjective observation). I feel we could have covered more topics faster and as a result spent more time trying to speak French in class (this started more towards the end of the course)
– There was little homework. As I had time, if I was given more structured homework (could be optional), the progress would have been faster. In the end, I read the text book by myself and learned words by myself at home
– In summary, making the course a bit more intensive and flexible, giving optional structured homework (for students that have time) and providing self-learning strategies (eg write sentences with new words, reading small texts at home, perhaps even watching simple French cartoons for kids at home etc) could make the course more interesting. Once again, this may be subjective as I now have some free time and have some prior knowledge of French (from a short course i took long time ago)

My son who lately became very negativistic has loved the lessons that they have each Thursday with Arzu from the very beginning. He always steps out serene and happy and based on what I learn from Arzu, as he does not share with me, he is also steadily progressing. The topics are fun, novel and exciting as they are always linked to the context/ time of the year in which they find themselves. We will come back again and again!

good option for starting

just one period already done, the lessons seem pretty good and my daughter likes them. Maybe it could be a little bit more intensive for kids older than 6-8 years old
