  Training courses to teach FLE

Do you love the French language and want to teach it? There are many training courses available to help you become a teacher of French as a foreign language!

  FLE studies

The aim of FLE university courses is to train professional teachers and trainers in the field of teaching French as a foreign language. The organisation of FLE courses in universities is based on the Licence – Master – Doctorat system. There is no FLE degree in its own right, but a 120-hour FLE course that complements a degree in modern literature, language sciences or modern languages. Completion of this course is generally a prerequisite for enrolment in a Master’s degree in FLE.
All information and university courses are available on the Agence de promotion du FLE website.

  DAEFLE

The Diplôme d’Aptitude à l’Enseignement de Français Langue Étrangère (DAEFLE) is a diploma certifying skills in teaching French to non-French speakers, co-organised by the Alliance française Paris Ile-de-France and the CNED (Centre national d’enseignement à distance). The course, which may be initial or continuing, is distance learning. This diploma course is aimed at professionals, but is not a university degree.

To be admitted to the course, you need to pass an access test, managed by the Alliance française de Paris and carried out online only. Once the modules of the CNED course have been validated, a final exam is required to obtain the diploma.

The Institut français du Luxembourg is a test centre in Luxembourg for your final exam, which consists of 2 papers: a cross-curricular paper (4 hours) and a specialist paper (1 hour 30 minutes).
The next session of the final exam will take place on 7 December 2023.
Registration is closed for the final exam.
